SYNOPSIS - In 2014, producer Michael Churton is at Everest Base Camp filming a sports documentary when the deadliest day in the mountain’s history unfolds. One year later, he returns to Everest to chronicle the intimate bond between Randall and Haley, a father and daughter team pushing toward the highest altitudes on Earth together.
After a month of trekking, training, and filming, disaster strikes. A catastrophic 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Nepal triggers a deadly avalanche that tears through Everest Base Camp. Hurricane-force winds hurl Churton into rocks as a nearby team member vanishes in a flash of white. At the same time, high on the mountain, Randall and Haley are roped-in, traversing a glacier when the earthquake destroys their route and engulfs them in a whiteout. Stranded at Camp 2, Randall begins to suffer a life-threatening altitude illness, and Haley is forced to prove her strength in ways she never imagined.
At its core, Bound To Everest is about the journeys that shape us. It is a story of transformation; of one dream shattered by trauma, and another discovered in its aftermath.
