At its core, Bound To Everest is about the journeys that shape us. In 2014, producer Michael Churton is at Everest Base Camp filming a sports documentary when the deadliest day in the mountain’s history unfolds. One year later, he returns to Everest to document the intimate family dynamics of a father and daughter attempting to climb through the highest altitudes on Earth.

After a month of trekking, training and filming, disaster strikes. A catastrophic 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Nepal unleashes a deadly avalanche onto Everest Base Camp. 100-mph winds hurl Churton into rocks as a nearby team member vanishes in a flash of white. At the same time, the father & daughter are roped-in high on the mountain as the earthquake destroys their route. Surviving the initial blasts, the father-Randall soon develops a life-threatening illness. His daughter-Haley must prove her toughness in a way she could have never imagined, as she prays a rescue can make it in time.

Bound To Everest is a story of transformation, of how trauma can fracture one dream and yet lead to another. In the years after the disaster, each person carries their own wounds, and must return to Everest Base Camp once more to truly move forward.
